Myanmar bucks international tourism trend

=> eg: Supposed you are running a shop, can you tell (I cannt sell you because you are Asians)? Or (our shop is only to sell for Europeans)? You are going to sell to everyone who is able to pay for the product you are selling.

=> There is an assumption, “we can rely on any market (either Asian or European) who can spend for the tour.

=> On the other hand, travel agents and independent travelers eventually prefer LOCAL tour operators / companies. Many Myanmars (not only in tourism industry) are managing European staff / executives / managers in their related business filed. Personally and sometime or somewhere, we are smarter than they do.

Ma Darle, to my opinion; it’s not a bad idea at all to have European managers or employees for European market. As it is the way it is for Japanese market. There is always a Japanese resident or manager to handle the tours. Familiar face in unfamiliar place is quite a relief. Second fact, is that “standard” which is needed for Europeans. He wasn’t saying Myanmar operators are stupid. So I don’t disagree with Werner Rumpf. Personally he is a positive thinker.

    Tom!!
