Solomon Islands PM resigns
Vicky, Ednal, Others So that the facts are understood, the PM’s resignation today is not (not) the end for the NCRA Govt yet. The resignation by Prime Minister Philip merely opens the door for the election of a new PM. As of today, the Governor General now handles everything. Government House, in consultation with the Speaker of Parliament, will soon (if not already) announce when (date) the nomination of Prime Ministerial candidates from both the Opposition and the government side. The announcement will also give the date for the election of a new prime minister.
Three working days are usually given for the nomination process. What I am saying here is that the process for a new government assuming office here in SI is not quite over yet
